“My husband and I were both so blessed by Jocelyn! She was a help and encouragement physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

“Five years ago when I was delivering babies back in India if you’d asked me if I’d have a doula next to me when I delivered my own child I’d say “no way, I don’t need more people when I’m in pain”. If I hadn’t met Jocelyn I would still have believed the same. And I would have missed out on a wonderful birth experience. Jocelyn made sure that my husband and I understood that child birth was also part of God’s perfect plan in our lives and that the pain was purposeful. She made sure we were fully prepared for that day. I made peace with the pain knowing that the outcome would be worth it. Having a doula makes a huge difference in child birth and having Jocelyn by my side was the one of the best decisions I’ve made in my birth plan. Looking back at my delivery day , the pain, the toil, and literally the labor in getting a little human out , I was able to do it peacefully because of Jocelyn and my husband encouraging me and calming me. The different kinds of massage techniques were really helpful for my back.. I believe I had back labor which is the worst kind of pain. I spent most of my labor at home and was able to have a normal vaginal delivery as I wanted. I highly recommend Jocelyn and I hope she’s around for my next one.”

“My husband Jeremy and I were honored to have Jocelyn as our doula for our natural VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). From the moment we met Jocelyn, we felt at ease and confident in her ability to serve as our doula. Jocelyn is kind, professional, knowledgeable, and has such a generous heart for the Lord. As we prepared for our birth, Jocelyn reviewed with us what we had been learning in our Bradley Method class. We discussed how our prenatal appointments were going with the OB and how we would handle various bumps in the road that we encountered. Jocelyn had so much knowledge and resources to direct us to that helped us make informed decisions as we prepared to welcome little Charles into the world. Jocelyn was truly invaluable throughout my labor. As it turned out, I did not care for any of the pain management or relaxation techniques we had practiced, so Jocelyn served as a voice of encouragement the whole labor. She and my husband each took an ear and spoke words of affirmation that helped me stay completely focused. Jocelyn coached me in my breathing and recognized as I moved through each stage of labor, adjusting to my needs as necessary.
One of the most memorable moments from my labor was when I could feel the excitement in Jocelyn and my husband’s voice when I was only a few pushes away from meeting our son. “You’re almost there, Tricia. You’re going to get your VBAC! Charles is almost here!” she said. She then asked me if I wanted to feel his head, as he was crowning. I felt his head and a surge of excitement went through me. Charles came out on the next push. I am so thankful to have had Jocelyn as our doula. She prayed for us, encouraged us, and cheered for us. I cannot imagine our birth going any better than it did with Jocelyn by our side. Thank you, Jocelyn. May God bless you as you continue your journey. You have a beautiful gift. Thank you for sharing it with us.”

”My husband and I decided to have a home birth for our first child while taking Bradley Method Birth classes. During that time, it was suggested multiple times that a doula would be very worth having at the birth. I was somewhat doubtful of how helpful another person would be since my husband was already planning on being with me through labor (in addition to our midwife, etc.) and besides, we had just taken classes, right? Well hiring Jocelyn as our doula was totally worth it! My husband and I were both so blessed by her! She was a help and encouragement physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Just to mention a few things, she was able to provide counter pressure and showed my husband how to give it as well. While in a contraction she reminded me that I never had to have that contraction again. As believers in Christ, Jocelyn’s presence brought peace and it meant so much to have her pray with us. I would highly recommend Jocelyn to anyone looking for a doula. You won’t regret it!”

“Jocelyn was a blessing in assisting us on delivery of baby number 3. Our first 2 babies were born cesarean and with the third baby we were going to attempt the vbac again. Too much intervention with baby 1 and baby 2 was forced cesarean because she was 9 days late. We educated ourselves on natural childbirth, switched doctors, and searched for a doula. Jocelyn was recommended by another doula that we spoke to but was unavailable. When we met Jocelyn, we knew she was the right one to help us. She kept us calm and focused during labor and delivery. I was able to achieve a natural VBAC. Jocelyn was very helpful during the entire process by being encouraging, talking us through things, caring for me, and most importantly getting me through contractions without medication. I am glad we chose her to be on our birth team.”

“My husband and I are new to the Cincinnati area. After getting pregnant a little less than year after our move, I waffled for months between getting a doula or going without, despite having had a positive first labor with a doula. Before I knew it, I was at 34 weeks! I figured that it was too late to hire a doula. My husband convinced me to reach out to a few, and it turned out that Jocelyn was willing and available. It was the best decision we made for this pregnancy. Jocelyn is so compassionate and full of knowledge and resources. When my due date came and went without going into labor, it was such a great help to receive articles and encouragement from Jocelyn; that got me out of worrying and back to hoping.
When my labor eventually started, 10 days late, Jocelyn knew exactly how to help me through each contraction. Her calm presence and affirmations helped me get through the worst of them; hearing her say “You don’t have to do that one again!” and getting repositioned into more effective laboring positions were the most encouraging things for me during the entire labor. And from the spouse’s perspective: my husband was comfortable being with me in labor because he knew that Jocelyn knew what to do for me. At the hospital end of things, everything in our birth plan was thrown out and we did not get our OB of choice, but we were able to remain calm and still have a natural birth because Jocelyn had prepped us so well with everything we needed to know. We have great respect and gratitude for Jocelyn and would ask her to be our doula again in a heartbeat should we have another child.”

“Jocelyn was amazing. I can wholeheartedly say that I wouldn’t have been able to have a homebirth without her. And I can imagine that if I would’ve transferred to the hospital, I would’ve needed her even more. Not only was Jocelyn the perfect support for me, she supported my husband. She brought such a peace to our birthplace. She was there when I needed her. Serving me food, drink, physical support. Just her presence with me in the most difficult moments of birth was a representation of Jesus never leaving us and is proof of his faithfulness in my labor when I didn’t feel strong or feel Him necessarily. God used her. I so enjoyed our prenatal and postnatal visits and texts, calls, prayers. My husband who was in doubt of why we needed a doula, afterwards said he’d pay her $1000 more and that he couldn’t have done it without her. So thankful for Jocelyn.”
